Donald Johnson Live Performance at 17 Frost
Jillian Salik is exhibiting at 17 Frost this month and if you missed the opening we offer you a cyber experience of it:
A collection of pastoral pictorials, filtered through the heavy set dark rimmed glasses of the Millennial generation, set against a saccharine, saturated backdrop the color of Tumblr, populated with distracted, glitchy characters, pop iconography, hot dogs and hot girls.
These new artworks were shown at 17 Frost, Williamsburg in Brooklyn, June 2013 as part of Aakash Nihalani and Rion Harmon’s Summer Series.
People were encouraged to bring their dogs to the opening reception. Each dog was given access to a V.I.P. (Very Important Pooches) section, where, if they decided not to bite Jon or any patrons, they were awarded an original portrait by Jon Burgerman drawn live on the night.
All the dogs were generally well behaved (more so than their human counterparts) although one small dog did do a poop in the V.I.P. area. He was swiftly escorted to the exit and branded a ‘bad dog’.
